Emerald Bay Boat tour

Vikingsholm Castle, Emerald Bay, Lake Tahoe

Our private powerboat tours have the option to drop you off at the pier in Emerald Bay. * Here, you can either go on the tour inside the Vikingsholm Castle put on by the California State Parks** or your Captain can anchor the boat and come meet you to continue the tales of Emerald Bay he started as you got here.

The history of Emerald Bay, the construction of the Vikingsholm Castle, and of Laura Knight is not only intriguing, but one that actually turned out well in the end. Our Captains don’t want us to spoil the fun of hearing these stories in person, so we can’t tell you anymore yet. You’ll just have to book a private boat tour with Lake Tahoe Boat Rides and hear it for yourself.

Which tour do we recommend?

If you can make it work, our 4 hour, ½ day tours are the best! This gives you a good amount of time to spend in Emerald Bay as well as more time to either participate in watersports or to continue your sightseeing boat tour for more amazing places of Lake Tahoe. Hiking to the base of lower Eagle Falls or up to the top of Fannette Island to the tea house can also be done in Emerald Bay. These are dependent on weather conditions, time available, and your own ability level. You may even have to get in the water in order to get to the Island and the tea house.
