Originally the summer estate of Henry J. Kaiser (Kaiser Aluminum) built
in 1939, Fleur du Lac lies north of Homewood and south of Eagle Rock.
The grounds of the original building were used in filming the movie,
Godfather 2 in 1973.  In 1975 it was bought by a developer and
demolished most of the original estate.  The only structure in the movie
that still exist are the complex of old native stone boathouses with their
wrought iron gates.  The sight of the property sparks the thought of
“Fredo” being rowed out into the mist on his last boat ride.

No one is allowed to get out on the property but we do go in so you can
see everything.
